Hyderabad: The Telangana high court has directed the Telangana Residential Educational Institutions Recruitment Board to hold the written test again for the post of art teachers by following norms of its own notification.
Justice Pulla Karthik gave the direction after concluding that the board had conducted the written test only in English in violation of its June 2023 notification for a bilingual (English and Telugu) test.
A petition filed by G Vinod and eight others had challenged the board’s action. “The board’s action is contrary to its notification,” petitioners’ counsel Akash Baglekar said.
The board’s counsel argued that the medium of instruction in all residential schools was English and, hence, the question papers too would be in English. The judge, however, said the board cannot take a different stand now after notifying that the test would be bilingual. tnn
