TIRUPATI: The three member committee appointed by the Srisailam Devasthanams has dismissed the Hyderabad based devotee’s claims of finding bones in the temple’s prasadams.
It may be recalled that Harish Reddy, a devotee from Hyderabad who worshipped at the Srisailam temple on Friday, lodged a complaint that he found two pieces of bones in the Pulihora prasadam distributed to him.
Srisailam EO D Peddiraju appointed a three members committee headed by a deputy EO rank official to probe into the serious allegations levelled by Harish Reddy.
The three member committee submitted its report to the Srisailam EO on Sunday.
Speaking to TOI, Peddiraju said that cinnamon sticks were mistaken for bones by the devotee and his claims turned out to be misleading during the probe conducted by the temple committee.
The Srisailam EO clarified that a strict adherence to the standard operating procedures while cooking prasadams is always ensured at the Srisailam temple and there is no scope for such acts of sacrilege.
He appealed to the devotees worldwide to not fall prey to such misleading propaganda and repose faith in the Srisailam Devasthanams, which is committed to upholding the sanctity of this ancient shrine dedicated to Lord Mallikarjuna Swamy and Goddess Brahmarambika Devi at Srisailam.
