Hyderabad Ayodhya Flight: 1st Hyd-ayodhya Flight Sends Demand For Tickets Soaring | Hyderabad News


Hyderabad: As direct flights from the city to Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya are set to commence operations from today (April 2), months after the Ram Mandir was thrown open to devotees, there is a huge demand for air travel between the two cities.
Several pilgrims from Hyderabad are approaching travel agencies to book air tickets to Ayodhya and enquiries are being made for availability of seats till April end.While some pilgrims are booking tickets through portals, many others are approaching agents.
Travel agencies in the city said that they had already booked air tickets for Tuesday as soon the tickets were made available. “Since direct flights are being made available to Ayodhya for the first time, there is a lot of enthusiasm among pilgrims to visit the Ram Mandir as they could reach the temple from Hyderabad in 2 hours,” said Moez Meghani, owner of Sky Bookerz, a city-based travel agency.
Earlier, those going to Ayodhya had to either spend 30 hours by a train from Secunderabad railway station or had to travel 5-10 hours through a connecting flight via Delhi/Kolkata that too by paying 10,000 to 15,000. Now, fares have been made affordable at 7,000-9,000 by SpiceJet, which operates a direct flight thrice a week.
Earlier, several requests were made by passengers seeking commencement of direct flights between the two cities. Tagging Jyotiraditya Scindia, minister for civil aviation, several passengers had expressed displeasure over non-availability of direct flights to Ayodhya from Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, there are also no regular trains from the Twin Cities to Ayodhya, Lucknow and Gorakhpur. At present, railways is operating only weekly or special trains during the festivals to these destinations.
