Uttarakhand Violence News: Four Killed, Over 100 Cops Injured in Demolition Incident | Dehradun News

NAINITAL: Four people were killed in the violence-hit Banbhoolpura town of Uttarakhand, with over a hundred policemen sustaining injuries, said AP Anshuman, state ADG law & order.
On Thursday evening, the district administration imposed a city-wide curfew in Haldwani and authorized shoot-at-sight orders due to violence during an anti-encroachment operation in Banphoolpura.
The situation escalated when residents of the area allegedly pelted stones at an anti-encroachment team from the Haldwani municipal corporation as they arrived to demolish an ‘illegal’ madrassa and mosque in Malik ka Bagicha. Despite the unrest, demolition continued.
Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held an emergency meeting, and a curfew was enforced in Haldwani until further notice, with exceptions for medical emergencies and essential services.
