Welspun Group: Welspun Grp To Invest 350 Cr In Hyd Plant | Hyderabad News



Hyderabad: Water tanks maker Sintex, which was acquired by Welspun Group earlier this year, is setting up a mother plant for manufacturing entire range of products at Chandanvelly on outskirts of Hyderabad, Welspun chairman BK Goenka said.
The 350 crore Sintex investment is part of Welspun group’s plans to invest 5,000 crore in Telangana over the next three-four years and create over 50,000 jobs in the five-seven years, Goenka said at the ground-breaking ceremony in Rangareddy on Thursday.
“Sintex has around seven plants but this is going to be the mother plant… The first phase will be commissioned in the next one year,” Goenka said.

SIG to invest 880cr to set up plant near Abad
Swiss packaging solutions provider SIG is investing approximately $100 million to set up its first aseptic carton plant in India. The facility, located near Bavla, is expected to have a production capacity of up to 4 billion packs per annum, with plans to increase it to 10 billion packs per annum. SIG’s CEO, Samuel Sigrist, cited the increasing demand for sustainable aseptic packaging solutions in the Indian market as the motivation behind the investment.
First Gayatri Devi Goenka Memorial Shooting Championship from Tuesday
GD Goenka University is organizing the Gayatri Devi Goenka Memorial Shooting Championship from September 26 to September 29, 2023. The competition will take place at the GD Goenka Shooting Range using the Electronic Scoring Target System. Around 500 participants from all over India are expected to participate. The championship pays tribute to Abhinav Bindra, India’s first individual Olympic gold medalist. The shooting range was established in his honor in 2022. The event will feature various competitive categories for different age groups and skill levels.
